Overview
Marangu route (Coca Cola route) is preferred by many mountain climbers as it is easy to ascend due to its gentle inclination. This is an oldest route that is well-established and include of accommodation in huts and dormitory-style lodging. To reach the Kilimanjaro’s summit (Uhuru Peak) through this route, six days are required. You will hike through the trails for five days and witness the sunrise on Uhuru peak before descending down.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet our expert mountain guide and driver who will welcome you to Tanzania with greetings. Soon, you will hit the road from the airport to your accommodation in Moshi town. At your lodge, you will check in and have a scrumptious lunch and soak up in a cold pool or enjoy massage in a spa. In the evening, our experienced mountain guide will give you a brief about your climb and tell you all necessary hiking gear that is required to start your hike the next day.
Our guide will pick you up from your lodge after breakfast. You will be transferred to Marangu Gate (1800m) to start your hike. After finishing up registering to the officials at the gate, you will start your hike through the rainforest covering the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro for about 2-3 hours. You will reach the Mandara Hut (2740m) where you will have dinner and sleep overnight.
Marangu Gate (1830 m/6000 ft.) to Mandara Hut (2740 m/9000 ft.)

Habitat: Montane Forest
After breakfast, you will hike through the rainforest, and then into the heather and moorland zones. As you hike past these zones, you will view the two peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro and stunning views of Moshi town. You will spend a few minutes eating lunch from your lunch box and proceed with your hike until you reach at Horombo Hut (3720 m), have a dinner and sleep overnight.
Mandara Hut (2,740 m/9,000 ft.) to Horombo Hut (3,690 m/12,100 ft.)
Distance: 11 km.
Hiking time: 6–8 hours
Habitat: Heath Land
You will spend this day for acclimatization. You will hike from Horombo Hut to Mawenzi Hut and then back to Horombo for a rest, dinner, and overnight stay. You will elevate at 2900 ft. and return to the starting point. As you hike through this heath land, you will witness the stunning zebra rocks.

Habitat: Heath Land
After acclimatizing, you will hike through the alpine desert and then into the alpine desert on Kibo Hut. You will trek through saddle connecting Kibo and Mawenzi. You will have an early dinner and overnight in preparation for the summit bid that will start at 00:30 a.m.

Distance: 10 km,
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
Your guide will awaken you at around 23:30 p.m. to prepare for final trek to the Kilimanjaro’s summit. You will aim for a sunrise at Uhuru Peak. You will walk past Gilman’s Point (5685 m), Stella Point, and finally reach the Uhuru peak. After spending some time to enjoy the scenic views of glaciers and crater at the summit, you will start to descend to Horombo Hut.

Distance: 4 km ascent, 14 km descent

Habitat: Artic
On this last day, you will have an easy downhill walk through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. You will stop at Mandara Hut for lunch and head out to the Marangu Gate. At Marangu Gate, you meet our driver will transfer you to your lodge in Moshi to relax and celebrate this achievement.

Habitat: Rain Forest
After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport or wildlife destinations such as Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater.

WEIGHT AND PORTERS
Clients are required to have a maximum of 15kg in their duffel bags. Due to the large increase in operational costs as a result of excess weight of clients’ luggage, we’ve had to resort to the following measures:

- Extra porter on the mountain (this is if a client requests) – $15 per porter per day
