Overview
This 7-day Kilimanjaro climb through Lemosho route is exciting with some wonderful scenes of the vegetation and other geographical features. You have one more to acclimatize yourself to make your body get used to high altitudes.
Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrival day and transfer to Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet our experienced guide waiting for you. You will be welcomed with greetings, stories, and a brief and transferred to Moshi where you will stay overnight and dine at your lodge.
Day 2 :
Drive to Londorossi Gate, then hike to Forest Camp
You leave your lodge in Moshi and drive for about 4 hours to the Londorossi Gate. After check-in with park officials, you will then drive to the Lemosho trailhead, which will take you another one hour. Before starting your hike, you will eat lunch and start your journey through rainforest until you reach the Forest Camp.

Day 3 :
Forest Camp to Shira Camp 1
You will ascend through the hills, streams, and reach the Shira Ridge and after that you hike down to Shira Camp 1. From this point, you will view the Kibo plateau and is very amazing.

Day 4 :
Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2 to Moir Hut
After breakfast, you will hike through the Shira plateau for a full day. As you walk to east, you will pass the glaciered peak of Kibo. You will rest a little bit at Shira Camp 2 before hiking to the Moir Hut for a dinner and overnight.

Day 5 :
Moir Hut to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, you will continue hiking in the east direction and pass the junction to the peak of Kibo. You will then hike to the southeast towards the Lava Tower (Shark Tooth), from which you will come across with the Arrow Glacier (16,000ft). As you hike down, you will come to Barranco Hut (13,000ft) where you will rest, dine, and sleep overnight. This hike will end up in the same elevation as you started. This day’s hike is normally used for acclimatization.

Day 6 :
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp, then to Barafu Camp
After breakfast, you hike from Barranco through a steep ridge past Barranco Wall and reach to the Karanga Valley. You will then leave Karanga and pass the junction that joins with the Mweka Trail. At this point, you have passed the Southern Circuit. You will enjoy the views of two peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo from this position. You will then camp, rest, have an early dinner, and sleep early in preparation for the summit attempt.

Day 7 :
Barafu Camp to Summit, then to Mweka Hut
The summit attempt will begin in the midnight (around 00:30 a.m.). Your mountain guide will wake you up and so you can make quick preparation for the summit attempt. You will start hiking to the summit at around 01:30 a.m. and you will hike past Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. As you hike to the northwest, you will ascend towards the Stella Point, which is the most challenging part of the hike and we hope you will persist. At Stella Point, you will take a short rest and then proceed with the hike to the summit. As the sun rises, you will be on Uhuru Peak. Congratulations! You are now standing on the Africa’s highest peak.
After enjoying the views of a sunrise at the summit, you will then start to descend down and stop at Barafu for a rest and lunch, then continue to Mweka Camp. As you descend, you need gaiters and trekking poles to maintain stability while walking downhill. At Mweka Camp, you will enjoy your last dinner on the mountain and overnight sleep.

• Distance: 5 km ascent/ 12 km descent
• Hiking time: 7-8 hours ascent & 4-6 hours descent

Day 8 :
Mweka Camp to Moshi
After breakfast, you will finish up the last part of your descent. You will walk down to the Mweka Gate to receive your certificates for achieving to hike the Africa’s highest peak. Gaiters and trekking poles can be good idea here because it is sometimes muddy and slippery. You have another hour to hike to Mweka Village where you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Moshi.

This is the end of hike. You can continue with other wildlife safaris to different parks or you can fly back home.
