Overview
This itinerary features two unforgettable experience. First, you will hike Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the Seven Wonders of Africa in six days, and finally you will trek the Great Migration, the greatest mammal migration on earth. Marangu route is one of the scenic route to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, so you will enjoy hiking as well as the beautiful scenery as you trek. The wildebeest migration is between the Seronera area and Northern Serengeti from July to September. Here are the details of the program.
Itinerary
Start your journey to visit Tanzania and arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. We have our team waiting for you at this airport. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed to this lovely country by our charming team, and then you will be transported to your hotel in Moshi. At your top-notch hotel in Moshi, you will have a comprehensive brief about your safari program with our English-speaking mountain guide. A dinner and overnight sleep will follow to relax your body following the next day’s hike.

Our guide will come for you at your lodge in the morning. You will have hot breakfast, and then get into the jeep for the drive to the Marangu Gate. You and your guide will pass through the customs to the park officials before we start our hike. After finishing up everything with the officials, our hike will begin in the lower foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. We’ll walk through the montane forest on the lower down of this majestic mountain. The first day’s hike is like a long walking safaris because you will hike through the gentle slope with a very small elevation gain. We’ll rest, have dinner, and rest when we arrive at Mandara Hut.

Habitat: Heath
We will have breakfast at Mandara Hut and start our hike through the montane forest. After a few hours, we finish the rainforest and emerge into the heathland and moorland zones. We’ll have a rest to eat lunch and enjoy the fascinating views of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s two peaks, Kibo and Mawenzi. We’ll then continue our hike until we arrive at Horombo Hut. After a hot water bath, you will eat dinner and sleep overnight in a tent.

This day is included in your hike to increase your summit success. It is a good idea for non-experienced mountain climbers, so they can get used to high altitudes. After breakfast, we’ll hike through the heathland for several hours and reach the Mawenzi Hut. We’ll eat lunch at this camp, rest a little bit while enjoying the scenic views. Later on, we will return to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight.

• Habitat: Alpine Desert
This is the preparation day for the summit attempt. After breakfast, we’ll continue with our hike in the heath before we emerge into an alpine desert. You will enjoy viewing spectacularly picturesque landscapes as you cross the saddle connecting Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Our final stretch to Kibo is physically challenging due to its steepness, so you’ll need more energy to endure. After we arrive at Kibo Hut, you will make preparations for the summit attempt. Make sure you prepare warm clothing as it is very cold up there. We’ll have dinner and get to bed early before the next day’s challenge.

• Habitat: Arctic – Heath
Your mountain guide will awaken at midnight to make preparation including eat snacks and hot coffee to boost your body. After that, we’ll start hiking in the most challenging part of the hike. Our aim is reach Gilman’s Point (5,685m) by dawn, rest a little bit, and enjoy the glorious view. After a short rest, we proceed with the trek until we arrive at Mawenzi Peak. We enjoy the views of the sunrise illuminating from Mawenzi Peak, and then proceed for another hour towards the Uhuru Peak at 5,895m. Enjoy the moment of being on the roof Africa. You will start to descend to Horombo Hut, stopping at Kibo Hut for lunch. At Horombo Hut, you will enjoy a well-earned sleep.
It is an easy day for you. We will descend through the rainforest to the Marangu Gate. After collecting your certificates, we’ll drive to your lodge for a shower, dinner, and overnight.
After breakfast, we’ll drive to the Serengeti National Park, one of the spectacular wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Upon arrival at the Serengeti, we’ll head to the camp for a lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll drive through the verdant plains of the Serengeti National Park. We’ll enjoy the views of non-migrating animals such as elephants, buffalo, gazelles, zebras, lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we drive to the north of Serengeti National Park, especially the Lobo area and the Wagakuria area. On our drive, we’ll encounter several games such as giraffes, buffalos, elephants, and antelopes, which are resident to this areas. We have the chance to spot large herds of wildebeests and zebras traversing the savannah of this splendid national park. For better experience with the wildebeest migration in the north of Serengeti, August to October is the best time to visit.
After breakfast, we’ll go for a full-day game drive across the Wagakuria area. You may be luckier to witness the crossing of the mighty Mara River. Plenty of resident wild animals can also be spotted as we drive in the spectacular savannah plains.
After breakfast, we start our adventurous drive from the north of Serengeti to Arusha. We enjoy lunch and drive to the airport to depart for flight to home.

WEIGHT AND PORTERS
Clients are required to have a maximum of 15kg in their duffel bags. Due to the large increase in operational costs as a result of excess weight of clients’ luggage, we’ve had to resort to the following measures:
