Highlights: Visiting a cultural village after your primate trekking experience
Overview
The trek can vary in difficulty depending on the location of the gorillas on any given day. Rangers lead the treks, and visitors are assigned to a specific gorilla family group. It can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours to reach the gorillas, depending on how far they are.
Best Time for Trekking
- Dry Seasons: The best time to visit is during the dry seasons, which typically occur from June to September and December to February. During these months, the trails are less muddy, and the trekking experience is more enjoyable.
- Rainy Seasons: Trekking is still possible during the rainy season (March-May, October-November), but the trails may be more challenging.
